Nora Robertsin romaani saa hömppämittarissa lähestulkoon maksimipisteet, siinä määrin laskelmoitua viihdettä se on: Come sundown (Piatkus, 2017; ISBN 978-0-349-41090-6).



En tiedä, mitä kirjassa varsinaisesti tapahtuu, sillä lukeminen tyssäsi, jälleen kerran, muutamaan sivuun. Se on todettava että yritteliäisyyttä kirjailijalta ei puutu, millainen tahansa juonisoppa näyttää olevan mahdollinen kunhan vain mukana on jännitystä ja romantiikkaa, olkoon reseptin lopputulos sitten kuinka keinomakeutettu tahansa.

Mary Baloghin romaani tuli aikoinaan luettua painettuna kirjana, mutta sitten se löytyi e-kirjana, enkä ensin tajunnut lukeneeni romaanin jo aiemmin: Heartless (Berkley Books, 1995; ISBN 978-0-698-15630-2).



Toisella lukemalla romaani tuntui edelleenkin melko kevyeltä tarinalta, mutta mukana on vakavampiakin sävyjä, jopa siinä määrin että mietin olinko aiemmin lukenut kirjaa loppuun asti. Ei hassumpi viihderomaani taitavalta kirjoittajalta.

Teos on osa kirjasarjaa jossa perintönä saatu sormus kiertää veljesparvessa, ja legendan mukaan sormuksella on maagisia ominaisuuksia. Kirjalla ei kovin maagisia ominaisuuksia kuitenkaan ole, perusviihdettä tyypillisimmillään.

Kirjan sisältö on ripoteltu sivun tai aukeaman mittaisiksi toteamuksiksi, joista osaa voisi pitää itsestäänselvyyksinä, mutta niin vain taitaa olla että tällaiset perusasiat luonnon merkityksestä tuppaavat arjen kiireissä unohtumaan. Erinomainen kirja tärkeästä aiheesta.

Yhä suurempi osa lasten ajasta kuluu digitaalisten tuotteiden parissa. Hyvinvointi ja tasapainoinen arki kuitenkin kaipaisivat liikkumista, ulkoilua ja puuhaa luonnossa. Kaupungistuneessakin Suomessa luonto on vielä ihmisten lähellä. Sen mahdollisuuksiin on vain tartuttava. Hyväntuulinen, reipas ja riemukas opas antaa siihen tukuittain vinkkejä. Kaikki ikäluokat taaperoista teini-ikäisiin saavat kokea yhteisiä, liikuttavia hetkiä ihan lähellä.
