Kirjailija on saanut mahtumaan 398 sivuun uskomattoman määrän päähenkilöiden välistä kiukuttelua ja kuhertelua, mutta lukija toki tietää että romaanissa häämöttää onnellinen loppu. Tarinan koukeroita lisäämään mukaan on uitettu pahis, joka kieroiluillaan saa tarinaan vielä kunnon loppuhuipennuksen, mikä sekin on ennakolta odotettavissa.

Laura Paloheimon chick lit -romaanin pelastaa räväkkä huumori, eikä kirjan juonikaan ihan päätön ole: Klaukkala (Otava, 2012; ISBN 978-951-1-26337-1).



Kirjan luettuani mietin, että vaikka kirjassa paikka paikoin tuntui olevan kritiikkiä pinnallista julkisuutta tavoittelevaa elämäntapaa kohtaan, loppujen lopuksi kirjan maailmankuva on tavattoman kiiltokuvamainen, eikä pinnan alta mitään erityisen syvällistä löydy.

Riemastuttava esikoisromaani taikoo vintagemuodista, tositeeveestä, rapujuhlista, joogaretriiteistä ja juurille paluusta herkullisen smoothien, joka nostattaa kulmakarvoja ja nykii nauruhermoja. Luksuselämää ja vintagelaukkuja rakastava Julia on palannut maailmalta Suomeen ja päätynyt tv-tuotantoyhtiö Meisselin leipiin odottelemaan hääkellojen kilkatusta. Kun unelmakihlaus rikkaan perijän kanssa purkautuu, koko kimaltava rakennelma romahtaa. Mutta pohjalla häämöttää jotain tuttua - vanha kotikunta Klaukkala, jossa kaikki ei totisesti ole ennallaan, vaikka kylänraitin tuulipuvut ja tukkamuoti ehkä ovatkin.
