Luin ensiksi romaanin Seven Wild Sisters, joka on rinnakkaisteos tälle romaanille, jossa puolestaan kerrotaan aiemmista tapahtumista, eli lukemisjärjestys olisi voinut olla parempi toisin päin. Mutta mainiosti sujui lukeminen näinkin, ja hieno saturomaani tämä on, Charles de Lint kirjoittajana ja Charles Vess kuvittajana: The cats of Tanglewood forest (Little, Brown, 2013; ISBN 978-0-316-05357-0).
Kirja kertoo sadun keinoin lapsuudesta ja nuoruudesta sekä aikuiseksi kasvamisesta, erityisesti siitä miten elämässä on tehtävä valintoja ja valintojen seurauksia on vaikea ennakoida. Mitä jos voisi toimia toisin, muuttaa elämänsä suunnan, korjata virheen jonka on tullut tehneeksi? Olisiko uusi mahdollisuus todella tarjoamassa parempaa?
