Kirjan sisältö on ripoteltu sivun tai aukeaman mittaisiksi toteamuksiksi, joista osaa voisi pitää itsestäänselvyyksinä, mutta niin vain taitaa olla että tällaiset perusasiat luonnon merkityksestä tuppaavat arjen kiireissä unohtumaan. Erinomainen kirja tärkeästä aiheesta.

Yhä suurempi osa lasten ajasta kuluu digitaalisten tuotteiden parissa. Hyvinvointi ja tasapainoinen arki kuitenkin kaipaisivat liikkumista, ulkoilua ja puuhaa luonnossa. Kaupungistuneessakin Suomessa luonto on vielä ihmisten lähellä. Sen mahdollisuuksiin on vain tartuttava. Hyväntuulinen, reipas ja riemukas opas antaa siihen tukuittain vinkkejä. Kaikki ikäluokat taaperoista teini-ikäisiin saavat kokea yhteisiä, liikuttavia hetkiä ihan lähellä.

Owen Laukkanen: The stolen ones

Owen Laukkanen kertoo jännärissään ihmissalakuljettajista, ja tapahtumat vyöryvät lukijan niskaan ilman levähdystaukoa: The stolen ones (Corvus, 2015; ISBN 978-1-78239-639-0).



Aloitin kirjan lukemisen Helmetistä lainatulla e-kirjalla, mutta sitten kävi niin näppärästi että kirjaston hyllystä löytyi sama kirja painettuna, ja jatkoin siitä sujuvasti eteenpäin. Laukkanen osaa jännärin kirjoittamisen, mutta kieltämättä kovin monta näitä ei perä-perää jaksa lukea, siinä määrin samankaltaisuutta tarinoiden asetelmissa on.

Tarinassa oli juonielementtejä jotka olivat uskottavuuden äärirajoilla, mutta hyvin Laukkanen tälläkin kertaa juonta pyörittää. Mistä tuleekin mieleen, että näitä romaaneja voisi lukea enemmänkin, jahka niitä ilmestyy.

Becky Albertallin romaani kertoo nuorten ihmissuhteista, ja tarinaan on sekoitettu melkoisesti nörttimäistä meininkiä, jopa siinä määrin että tarina tuntui markkinaselvitysten pohjalta tietylle kohderyhmälle räätälöidyltä: The upside of unrequited (Penguin Books, 2017; ISBN 978-0-141-35611-2).



Kirjailijalla on kuitenkin omaperäistä sanottavaa, ja vaikka tarinassa ei isompia yllätyksiä olekaan, teos on kieltämättä sellainen joka saa hyvälle mielelle.

Tarina tuntuu moneen kertaan kerrotulta, mutta jonkinlaista omintakeisuuttakin on mukaan erehtynyt. Kirjailijalta ei muita romaaneja Helmetistä löytynyt, joten en päässyt tarkistamaan muiden teosten laatua.
